PETA’s latest vegan ad is full of cr*p – and that’s the whole point

This new PETA ad uses humour, music, and animated poo to highlight the digestive perks of plant-based eating and encourage veganism.

PETA is hoping to grab attention with an animated video that’s as cheeky as it is catchy.

In it, a team of wide-eyed, dancing cartoon poos belt out the benefits of a fibre-rich vegan diet, claiming that ditching meat and dairy is “good sh*t”.

Created with the help of agency Samy Alliance and production studio Flamboyant Paradise, the campaign leans into humour and music to deliver its message.

It’s a deliberately silly way of saying that a plant-based diet helps keep things moving, with more fibre-rich foods, less constipation, and better gut health overall.

Santi Lucero, global chief creative officer at Samy, said the team wanted “the most distinctive and effective way to grab people’s attention in a competitive space like social media.”

The musical poos were chosen to deliver “a meaningful reason to consider going vegan.”

Running across PETA’s social channels, the campaign also includes sticker placements in UK cities.

Whether people laugh, cringe, or sing along, PETA hopes the message sticks – in more ways than one.
